Maybe the farm is good, and all of the images have fanished. This of course happened to evryone on flickr during the Christmastime holiday break at Yahoo! You remember, we all lost evry single image we had in Yahoo! search.....and we lost ALL of our page ranking. That would be so very bad if this is happening again. It is really very, very simple to host images. Other companise even manage with video and those are always up. This problem is getting so old!

Doug,
We have not lost any images. There is not even a hint of data loss around this issue, we're having connectivity issues to certain servers right now, which is what I explained earlier.
Everyone, we are still working to resolve full connectivity to Farm5. Thanks for your patience and as we have updates, we will provide them.

Doug,
We did not lose any images last winter. Images dropping out of Yahoo! image search is not the same thing as images being lost, that was a config error which caused Yahoo! to not index Flickr photos and it took a while for them all to regain their search 'juice', if you will.
We totally don't enjoy Flickr not being able to serve images; there are people here working to resolve this issue. We're sorry that we're even having an issue, but we'll be straight with you about what's happening, and data loss is not at all a factor here.
At any rate, it looks like it may be a while longer until this is over, so please bear with us or perhaps take a break until we're able to restore full connectivity.

zyrcster, while I can appreciate your concern for not having the farms down, they remain down. Yet, the tester says go Green. This is not something we take lightly here. This problem flickr has occurs continuosly and frquently, its very bad. flickr staff needs to start treating their customers like customers and live up to their obligations of providing the service you and other staff members get paid for. We here pay you and we get nothing in return, not even our images to show. I would never allow this to happen at my site, there are many precautions that can be taken to prevent images from red-x ing. With the very odd threads this morning it leaves a person to believe you were hacked. You need to get control of your site, and make it work. Who cares about a new page, lets just get it so we always see the images, keep it simple. Good bye.

gwennie2006, Farm5 is having intermittent issues. Sometimes it shows all green, sometimes Global is X'd out, sometimes East, sometimes West, sometimes two of three or all three at once. Then it goes back to all green again. The issue is clearly ongoing, but if you happen to check the tester at the right moment, it shows all green. No grand conspiracy or hacking onslaught necessarily involved.
The fact that Flickr has a number of different server farms and mirrors IS one of the precautions they've taken to prevent the entire site from going down if a server has problems. I'm as annoyed by this as anyone else (especially the images I have on my blog that are now intermittently failing to show up), but if Flickr was as careless as you're indicating, this would be a whole hell of a lot worse.

Hi folks,
So, we believe we have stabilized the system at this time, but we'll be leaving this topic hot for a while so that if people still see problems on Farm5, they can let us know here.
Also, about this, while I can appreciate your concern for not having the farms down, they remain down. Yet, the tester says go Green.
The test page is just a very rudimentary troubleshooting tool that most of the time can quickly identify to a member that their connectivity to a particular server is not good. Our team actually uses quite a few many more monitoring tools and there are a lot of complex, moving parts here. We're able to see what the troubles are on the back end and identify solutions. Sometimes it takes a while longer to resolve issues than we'd like, and this issue is something we're still actively monitoring. Thanks for your patience.

"I hope i haven't completely lost my photos"
To be very clear, your photos are not lost, this is a serving issue we are working on. The files are safe, and are not affected- it's just an issue serving them up which we are experiencing.

Only just noticed this when approving images to a group.
According to the Magic Donkey:
Firefox - Farm 5 Global
Safari - Farm 5 East
On a Mac in the UK.
On my home page, the thumbnails from my contacts consistently have three or more 'broken' images. Which images these are changes when I refresh (even though the actual images have not 'moved along').

Hi there, CMRiphonetography, all of your photos are on Farm5, so it'd either be all or nothing if it were that (and at this moment, Farm5 is available to all).
Do you mean that others can only see 1 photo? Check your safety levels on the other photos - only logged in members with Safe Search off can see moderate content. If you still need help, please open a new topic. :)

No problems in the UK.
You could of course both be right. It might be a Yahoo server in Scandinavia that is serving content to that geography.
Or it could be another company's server in Scandinavia that is on your route to Yahoo.

Yes, Yogi when the farms get red x's on flickr, they get red x's across the entire internet. That image is always connected through flickr. I hope it gets resolved for your World Championship event. Mine last Monday didn't go anywhere because of the red x's. 6 months of preparation too. Down the tubes 'til next year.
Do you see a red-x on farm five here Yogi...

Hi folks,
We're not actually seeing any Farm5 issues lately, so it's possible that either there is a poor network connection between you and Farm5 or that you're blocking Farm5 in your browser. Some tips for troubleshooting are in this FAQ:
