That's not really what this topic is about... But if you're having trouble saving images from your friend's photostream, why not ask your friend? It's up to each photostream owner to set download permissions.

Thanks for fixing the batch problem.
Two more problems:
1. I changed the permissions of two old photos from Friends & Family to Public. On my Facebook newsfeed this showed up as "uploaded 2 photos to Flickr". I don't want this sort of change to show up on Facebook at all.
2. The iPhone Facebook app incorrectly escapes the apostrophe, so it says "View fjordaan's photostream". I guess this is a flaw in the Facebook app, but you could avoid it by using a non-unicode character.

We would like to link our Flickr account with our organization's Facebook Page. Right now if we link with Flickr it will link with the administrator and show uploaded pictures in the administrator's news feed. Is it possible to link a Facebook Page with Flickr so that the uploaded batches will show up in the news feed for the Page?

Hi fjordaan ,
Thanks for the feedback. We did design this such that private uploads made public later will be pushed to Facebook.
As for the apostrophe and unicode, I'll let the developers know, thanks!
Hello PushAmerica , our integration does not work with pages. You might take a look in the App Garden to see if a 3rd party has developed something that will suit your needs.

Well, thanks. Another related, but different issue is the sharing of Flickr Blog posts on Facebook. Though the URLs of one's pictures when posted as links {Edit: in updates} on facebook appear as thumbnails there, Flickr Blog posts cannot be shared in the same fashion. When I tried to, I got a result as shown in this screen shot .

I actually prefer the old integration. I really dislike the "all in one" style integration because it piles all of the Facebook-shareable Yahoo updates into one "application id" on Facebook. When this happens, anyone who blocks Yahoo updates on Facebook will also miss out on the Flickr updates pushed through by the same source. There doesn't appear to be any way for a friend to choose only to see the Flickr updates, and not the others.

Hi Twister65, That's a fair point.

Dear Flickr Team,
I am somewhat disappointed that you do not even offer fan page support to your pro members. However, I find it really disturbing, that your application requieres access to my friends' information such as birthdates, work and education history etc. I can not see any way in which this might be necessary for posting updates to my stream etc. Especially for pro-account users, such as myself, who pay money for your service this is an absolute no go, especially as we are a publicly founded organisation and need to conform to strict privacy policies.
I hope that future updates and fixes to the facebook/flickr integration will pay attention to these issues.
Sincerely yours
Boellstiftung

I would love to link my Flickr account with Facebook as the Facebook photos are horrible in quality. However I have an issue with what photos will be shown. Before when I tried to set this up it said that ALL photos even private and friends and family ones would be shown... Is this still the case because as a PRO account I think thats a huge privacy issue.
Also Im having issues posting photos from Flickr to my blog. I was doing it no problem then it suddenly started giving me errors last night and still is this morning. What gives!?!?!

Hi Twister65,
The old integration is actually Facebook's 'import sites' - we have no control over their interface, so that's a question for them. :)
Hello Boellstiftung,
For Fan support, please check the App Garden for other 3rd party applications that also can update Facebook. I believe that FlickrTab can do this:
www.flickr.com/services/apps/search/?q=facebook
As for the privacy concern, please ask over at Pulse, since they are the bridge between Flickr and Facebook, so they are best suited to answer your questions about that. There is some information here:
help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/pulse/socialnetwork/psnetwork-0...
Hi {PZ.Photography}, we only send public and safe updates to Facebook. Your private photos remain private on Flickr, unless you set them to public.
As for the blog errors, please do open a new Help topic so that we can investigate. :)

I do like the way this update works more reliably than the one FB provides, but I hate the way it uses the cropped "square" image rather than the more representative "thumbnail" image.
That's a deal-breaker, as far as I'm concerned. It seems odd that FB does a better job of showing people my Flickr images than Flickr does.

Today I visited my Facebook page and saw a Yahoo flickr entry saying that I'd uploaded 3 photos yesterday.
But I didn't upload any photos yesterday. The 3 photos were all uploaded in November 2005 ... but I happened to change their privacy from 'friend/family' to 'public' yesterday.
Is this supposed to happen? These were photos of my son that I had kept private but had figured that they were old enough now that no one would really see them unless they went looking. I hadn't meant to broadcast them to everyone on Facebook!
*edit* yes, there is a bit in the FAQ about it, but I misunderstood.
Any chance you can have a time-limit on it? I think I assumed that the 'when you make it public' was to cater to people who upload their photos as private so they have time to add their metadata, then switch to public. But 5 years later? Didn't expect that. :)
Also, I guess it's a bug that it says "uploaded yesterday" on Facebook.

anotherplainjane, we do show that your updates are posting to Facebook, so if you still see otherwise, please let us know in the bug topic.
spookmag, please try to do the linking from Pulse itself:

Go to "Settings" > "Manage updates".
I see you've posted in the bug topic, so please do follow up there if it still does not work.

Why does this need an authentication to pull all sorts of info from my facebook account? This is not acceptable. I know that most users will just click 'next' and don't care and that's the worst of it. I am disappointed in Flickr for this move shows again that you are going in a corporate direction where users opinions don't really count when they are in conflict with yours.
Also, this whole 'linking with pulse' thing is really obfuscated. I don't know what pulse is and what consequences it will have if I link *both* my facebook and flickr account with it and you don't seem to be interested in telling me about it while I am enabling facebook sharing! shame on you

I agree with orestis f just about the error message that I get when connecting to facebook. The Yahoo method is REALLY poorly documented and Yahoo forces you to make all these decisions without explaining them.

Hi folks,
Please use this bug topic to report problems using the service:
www.flickr.com/help/forum/72157624242426420
As for the information that the application asks for when authenticating to Facebook, it's important to note that this credential is used for the entire Yahoo! integration, so it's the same credential that is used to pull your Facebook info into your Yahoo! Home Page, which it why it needs to access the info it's asking to access.
Your privacy is important to us. if you do not want Yahoo! to use as much Facebook info as it asks for, then please try one of these other Facebook-Flickr 3rd party integrations found in the App Garden:
www.flickr.com/services/apps/search/?q=facebook
Also, any questions you have about your privacy can be directed to our Privacy team here:
info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/details.html
Thanks for the feedback!

In the future, will there be an option to allow for an automatic FB wall post of of NEW public photos but NOT a FB wall post when an OLD previously private photo is made public? (I don't want to spam my FB page with old content...it's not noteworthy.) Perhaps some sort of manual selection at each batch upload?

Is there a way to link one Flickr stream to multiple Facebook accounts? My wife and I have individual Facebook accounts but we share a single Flickr stream for the family photos.
The old Flickr import provided by Facebook allowed us to achieve this. Would appreciate any suggestions on how this could be done using the new integration mechanism to Facebook.

I have got the Facebook/Flickr link to work (after a couple of tries at unlinking and relinking), but it doesn't do updates on anything like the basis mentioned above (i.e. 10 minutes after every upload). I uploaded 4 photos a week ago, which showed up soon afterward. But I uploaded another 30, 10 hours ago, and nothing is yet showing.
Given that basically my feed is working, is there a way of giving it a "push" when it's failing to show an update? Previously the Facebook/Flickr link worked so that within Facebook I could do a manual update, which would show a photo upload that Facebook hadn't picked up for whatever reason. But now that the link works differently, is it possible (or could it be possible) in Flickr to give a manual "push" to feed the latest upload to Facebook?

Hi MyfanwyJane,
It's not possible to manually push updates to Facebook with this integration, however, previous uploads can be updated to Facebook if they were once hidden from search and then you make them available to searches.
I did just take a look at your account, and your uploads since September 24th are not available to searches. You can check this by visiting one of your photo pages, scrolling down the right hand side of the page to the "Owners Settings' area, click 'show more' and see the search status. You can make that change right there to make them available to searches. They should then appear on Facebook within the hour.
It looks like you're using iPhoto? It's possible that hiding uploads from searches is a setting there somewhere, so look there to see if you're hiding the photos from search on upload.
If you continue having trouble with this, please follow-up in our official bug topic as this topic is for feedback. :)

I liked it the old way. link to FB. one click. and sometimes it eventually updates. now i have to share all of my FB info eternally and give unlimited access to yahoo. and i pay for this. ...should be a free service if you're going to continually sell us out. i wish someone up there would accept the fact that I joined flickr for flickr and yahoo is a sinking ship I don't want to board let alone pay to be sold into an advertising revenue scheme.

I for one liked the old way better. I do not like the fact that Yahoo needs access to various information which seems to have little to do with Flickr or sharing photos. Access at anytime, access to my info, access to friends info. Yikes.
If there is any way to go back to the previous format, please do. I mean, this alone could discourage me from purchasing another year for Flickr pro.

They do batch updates, but in a much shorter timespan. If you upload 15 photos all together, there will only be 1 post on Facebook. If you upload 2 photos 15 minutes apart, you'll get 2 updates on FB.
I'm not sure what the cutoff time is -- probably 5 or 10 minutes.

Personally I don't like this integration especially I have to link my photos to 2 Facebook accounts. In the past I could do that without a hassle. Now with this new integration, I'm stuck with NO other ways to link my Flickr photos to my other social groups. This is definitely a wrong direction with Flickr.
As a Pro account user, I'm very disappointed with this. If there's no remedy to this issue, I'll likely look into other source of photo network i.e. Picasa.

Hi Baby Janis ^_^,
I'm sorry this feature doesn't do what you'd like it to do. The 'old way', called 'Imported Stories', was Facebook's feature, which they've now removed from their site, "The Imported Stories feature is no longer available. Most of the sites supported by this feature now allow you to publish stories to Facebook directly from the site."
I'm not sure if any of the 3rd party applications can handle this, but you might check them out and ask their developers:

Did you sign up for Flickr using a Google ID? The Facebook integration works through a Yahoo! service, which requires that you sign up with a Yahoo! ID.

Flickr makes it pretty easy to put links underneath images. Just copy the URL of your fan page and paste it into the image description.

I would like to be able to pick a particular photo or set of photos and share them via my Facebook account (rather than have every public photo automatically forwarded). Is there a way to do that?
go to facebook and paste the URL's of the flickr sets or photos in your status update.

Hello,
Apologies if this has been posted before.
I have just connected flickr to facebook and uploaded some PUBLIC photos to test if the uploads show on my facebook news feed/profile. Unfortunately they don't appear. I had tried it before a coupla months ago and it wouldn't do it. I have activated "allow updates from Yahoo apps" on facebook, and thought that this might fix the problem. But nope, no upload notifications in the feed. Have I missed something?? Any other switch on facebook or flickr? Thank you very much in advance.

Need to add the ability to connect one Flickr account to multiple Facebook accounts. A number of people have asked for this in various areas on the help forum here, it makes sense, it was possible before this "new way", and it shouldn't be that hard to implement. Please advise whether this is in the works. Thanks!

I've got the same problem as hanabira and the others. My Flickr uploads are not being posted onto Facebook, no matter how many times I've tried unlinking and relinking the accounts, and no matter how many various combinations and re-ordering of the steps to link the accounts. What gives, Flickr/Yahoo?

Hello dbullens,
I've cleared the connection between your Flickr account and Facebook updates.
Please remove the Yahoo! app from your Facebook account; then reconnect again:
* Remove the Yahoo! application from Facebook: On Facebook go to Account (upper right corner) > Privacy > "Edit your settings" under "applications and settings" > then click ''edit settings' in the "Applications you use field".
* Re-connect Facebook in your Flickr account settings: www.flickr.com/account/?tab=extend

Hello,
I saw some of my friends used this on their Facebook, and I can see their photos on yahoo pulse, yahoo messenger and from my yahoo mail updates as well.
Could you please tell me how to get updates of photos on Flickr to Facebook, and Facebook only? I don't want photo updates appear on pulse, messenger and in emails updates of other people.
Thank you!

The Flickr to Facebook update only worked for a couple days and then stopped working. I have done as suggested by staff, removed Yahoo app from Facebook and tried to re-establish the connection and when re-establishing the connect just get a "There was a problem connecting your account to Facebook. Please try again later. " message.

As per many others I cannot connect to facebook. I assume it is a glitch with either facebook or Flikr that will be sorted out soon? I am getting rather tired of being told to "try again later" knowing full well it isn't going to work.

I am still trying to link Flikr to Facebook, and have been for 3 months. All I ever get when I try is try again later. it does not work, it will never work and it is a waste of time.
I am not a computer whizzkid and I rely on links like this to work.

How does that work with a Facebook Fan page ? I would like to link my facebook fan page to my flickr account and not my personal profile to it.
I tried to use "flickr for facebook pages" by involver but it's not giving me the same.
What i need is what you provide, just a simple pust on my fan page wall telling people i've uploaded a picture on flickr.
any help ?
thanks
