Thank you for taking this bold step to solve the problem. Of the five bulleted items the first three will simply continue the status quo anyway; few of us will notice a difference.

The F&F thing is not, I repeat NOT working Kevin. I had someone add me 3 days ago and she just re-added me again and I still cannot see her photos. All of them are friends only so I'm getting a big fat zero. Lovely...

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate your efforts.
However, I`d like to call your attention to another problem that apparently hasn`t been considered before.
When I check my contacts` recent additions, I start from the most recent one and go back (about 10 pages every day from my round 400 contacts) until I find a photo I had already seen the day before. Since this takes a little time, once I`m finished I go back to my first page to check if any new photos have been posted in the meantime. If none are there, I assume that I have seen all the recent contacts' photos. WRONG!!! Because (and this happens all the time) the new more recent photos don`t always appear up front, on the first page, but are inserted internally in the middle of the recent photos list (say, for example, on page 3). Now, in this case, of course, I cannot avoid missing them, unless I browse al my contacts` recent photo pages again, one by one.

Great, now the pervs are using this to attract attention to their streams. Way up top I posted a problem Kevin/Heather, I hope you can find it. It says that the Friends and Family thing is working for people you add but it isn't for me.

Luigi, use RSS. By using an appropriate feed reader you can mark items as read when you’ve seen them and just look at those that you haven’t seen yet.
Or reduce your number of contacts.
The fact that new photos are appearing somewhere in the middle of the “photos from your contacts” stream has two reasons: first, the database update issue which is being resolved now, and second, the fact that it is ordered by upload date (many people first upload their photos as private, then add stuff like description and tags, and then make the photos publicly visible). So, use RSS.
