There are many threads about this in Flickr help. If you search with the search tool, you'll find your answers.

Rebekka, I just wanted to say thanks for not "outing" this person based on suspicion alone. I'm no fan of the lynch mob.
I agree that a "ban" option would make some people breathe easier, but my first suggestion would be to contact FlickrHelp directly by email about it. In my experience, they are really quick to respond and helpful as all heck.

We are going to make it so that the "ignore" features makes it so that people you ignore can't favorite your photos. This will be coming up in the next month or so.

If you are goign to put your kids on the internet, you are going to leave them open to everyone.
That's not to say you shoudln't be able to prevent someone (or try anyways) from viewing them, but it's almost to be expected.

Caterina... Doesn't a Flickr Member have to leave you a comment before you can "ignore" them? Just wondering...as I'm not sure.

currently, yes.
but they could easily set it up so that "deleteing" someone's favorite mark {in the same way one deletes a comment} would trigger the same screen.

I don't like this at all. "Blocking" a user from favoring your photos should make all their favorites from you disappear from public view – it shouldn't stop you from favoring their photos. That's just going too far.

I like this blocking option, it steers creeps away from you and is helpful.

Yup...it's far better that they sign in under another account name and download the pictures to their hard drive.

Excellent point. If only Flickr offered some way of keeping a photo private? ... oh wait, they do...

Set it so only your family, friends or other contacts can see the kid pictures. You shouldn't post anything (i.e. pics of your kids, nekkid pics of yourself, your home address, etc) you don't want the creepiest stranger you can imagine staring at, because the internets is like real life: it's your responsibility to set boundaries and take certain precautions.

Where could I find the 'ignore' button? Doesn't sound like it's available to block favoriting yet, but that would be useful.
One of my pics was just favorited by someone with no profile, no public photos and 1200+ favorites, all of people sleeping. And it kinda creeped me out.
I just made the photo private, but I'd like an option to block an individual user having to block everyone but contacts.
(if there's a more appropriate place for this comment, my apologies. this is the best thread I could find.)

I had one of mine favourited by the same individual (unless there is more than one person out there with a sleeping person fetish). I just went through my entire stream and privated a bunch of pictures. As a parent, I am simply going to have to think harder about every picture I upload and how someone...distasteful might look at it.
The ironic part to me was that I had called it "Innocence" (it was a picture of my son) and had captioned it with a poem referring to the sleep of a child "without sin." I very much doubt the person who favourited it had an "innocent" reason.

As a parent, I decided NOT to post pics of my children on the Internet. Why post your kids' pics here for public viewing when there's the option to post them privately under friends and/or family members?

I had the same person fave a pic of me sleeping. I looked thru their faves - pages and pages of sleeping people. CREEPY!!! I privated it to "shake off" the fave and then made it public again - but it's really wierd isn't it??
And I think that same person as stated in orig. post faved like 10 pics of my kids... at least. All their faves were kids too. And no public photos. There are some really wierd ppl here on flickr I think... or at least with questionable motives. Not that faving a child's portrait is bad, but there are times when it's really suspicious.

This creeped me out so I started looking at who has "favorited" photos of my children. There is one person who has 4 of my teenage daughter along with several (20 or so) that I would call completely pornographic, and many tasteful nudes. This person does have public photos posted and i also dont see a problem with choosing childs pics as fav's but it bothered me with all the other ones he had listed as favs that my daughter was one of them.

Why not just simply display picyures of your loved ones you feel may be in danger on the net, by using the only availble to people you regard as family or friends feature, this takes the form of some checkboxes, simple as that, lets keep flickr secure

I'm also started to be weirded out by some people who are favoriting my photos and have no photos of their own. One person added two shots of my Christmas tree as favorites. I looked at this person's favorties list and it's all people sleeping, Christmas trees, and people playing guitar. The list just keeps growing and growing. I don't know what to make of it, but it's not really jiving me the right way.
