Go back to the message, and click on the "Report Abuse" link at the bottom of the page - right now!!
Last time around, this hacking bastard deleted the user's account - let's see if we can stop it happening again...

Thanks, I have reported the message.
Do I understand it correctly that someone is misusing identities of people and sending out messages at random?

Precisely!
Gains access to their account (probably via a "trojan" that's been sent to some Flickr users), then uses it to send nasty e-mails like the one you've gotten.
Happened on Sunday morning, to a nice lady named Lisa - the hacker posted several false posts pretending to be her, then finally deleted all of her photos, then her account.

Can't think of a way for the hijacked account to be notified, without the hijacker being aware, to download all their photos right away (if they don't already have them).
They are likely not a contact of the OP, so personal emails might not be known.....
But here's the link to FlickrDown.

I got the same message this morning myself ..I am so upset about this right now I do not even know if I want to continue to Flickr..
Hey,
You advertised on the forum that u sell nude images of xxxxxxx(http://flickr.com/people/xxxxxxxx/) and her daughter naked, including some with her husband involved. I was just wondering if u would like to sell me some of those? What payment methods do u accept?
Thank u so much! It is people like u who make this world much more enjoyable! Hope to hear back from you soon. :)

Yes, this is particularly nasty in the way it is being done... hijacking somones account to send out the offending emails. Some people may not make that connection and then mistakenly direct their hostility at an unsuspecting member. This is a huge problem as I have noticed there seems to be a new wave of mails that were sent out this morning. I think Flickr admins need to make this an immediate top priority and at very least acknowledge they are aware of the problem...

sigh. please see the other thread on this topic.
and please look at this:
flickr.com/photos/davidteter/401031334/
all i can suggest is that people practice better operational security with their passwords/account info and that they shame Yahoo into putting the resources necessary into catching/stopping this one person who is causing the damage.
these emails are just a small part of the damage that this person has caused.

My wife's account was hacked and an email just like that was sent from her account. She was in tears at all the email responses she was receiving from angry people who thought she'd actually sent it. Disgusting.

Needless to say, we've changed our passwords.

I have to agree with you, davidteter, with regards to security settings. I have commented on the link you provided to say that I hope this person doesn't ever have another Yahoo! ID and Flickr account again. And Report Abuse is the way to go with these troubles.

I wasn't going to comment on nay of this, but just a little FYI here.
When My flickr password was compromised a few months ago, I was not receiving the response emails in my alternate email box either. When my password was restored I started getting them again. I have no idea how it all works, but this is what happened with me.
Heather this is mostly for you, as I know you are being accused of not responding. Just know it is possible that people are not getting your responses!

@Laura Yes, I found that strange as well when I went to report MY letter.
I clicked on HELP - Contact US - Please select a category - Then scroll down to the bottom and find:
"I'm having other issues" or "No question, just feedback for the team".
Here is part of my automated response:
"Just a quick email from Team Flickr to let you know that we've successfully received your recent Help by Email query and we hope to respond within 83 days."

I have blocked amy_and_kevin so that they cannot do any commenting on my photos and photosets. These persons also cannot post my photos as Favorites, cannot send me FlickrMail, cannot add notes to my photos, cannot add my photos to blogs, and cannot add me as a contact. And they cannot invite my photos to groups that require the invite.
To g.originals: If you can, try doing what Mike Browne and his wife Carol did and change your password.

Chrisser: You have blocked Amy and Kevin. You haven't blocked anyone that is doing anything malicious.
You are hitting out at the wrong people. By blocking the people that are actually getting targetted, you're not actually helping or solving anything.
To g.originals: If you can, try doing what Mike Browne and his wife Carol did and change your password.
But do it from a totally different computer. It's likely that doing it from one computer will have no affect. Then log out and log in on this computer with the new password.

Just a thought, should this jerk ever be caught : Isn't the solicitation of child porn, even as a joke as this guy claims it was( on lolade's page ), a federal offense ? Yeah, yeah, I know they have to catch him first ....

This is the problem with communicating by written word. Things are misconstrued, and not read clearly, or written cleary. It is difficult enough in person when things get heated.
All I was saying is that when I had my problem, I was NOT RECIEVING emails that HAD BEEN SENT.
The problem was fixed via phone with Yahoo, and I've had no problem since. I do have a new password.
I was just pointing out the possibility of this happening.
I hope for the best!

ok flickr. the hacker is still posting on my shot with a hijacked address from "Amy and Kevin"....
www.flickr.com/photos/davidteter/401031334/
kinda surprised that I haven't heard anything from flickr. even if it was to not block the address so that they can gather more information. but nope. nothing. nothing. nothing.
and nothing.

my feeling is that this sort of email is posted by a bot, not by a person.
it's probably a phishing attempt, i.e. to get access to bank accounts of the people who would answer.
or (conspiracy theory) it could be a covered FBI operation to catch all the child pornographers on Flickr :)

I just recieved flickr mail today with pretty much the same message.
"Someone told me you sell nude images of *******(
www.flickr.com/people/*******/ ) daughter and i was
just wondering how much do you charge and do you accept
paypal?"
I reported it to flickr and it seems as though the account has been deleted.
I see that these comments were from 2 weeks ago, and this is still going on??

there has been several threads reporting the same problem since then, e.g. today:
www.flickr.com/forums/help/34940/
i don't think the problem will disapear anytime soon. as long as some flickr members get phished, the problem will continue. unfortunately most computer users are vulnerable to "social engineering" attacks like the ones phishers use. and to make matter worse, a majority of computers are not protected by well-configured up-to-date anti-virus programs and have not installed all recomended security updates.

If users had taken the time to read the two security alerts that Flickr issued on the "phishing" attempts, and heeded the advice NOT to click on links offering "photo packages", there wouldn't be that much of a problem.
After all, a "phisher" can only make the link available - before anything else can happen, it takes a user to click on it ...

Dr. Keats wrote: If users had taken the time to read the two security alerts that Flickr issued on the "phishing" attempts, and heeded the advice NOT to click on links offering "photo packages", there wouldn't be that much of a problem.
That advice is all well and good, but it is entirely possible that this all relates to the first "attack" before said warnings were issued.
Not every flickr user is fully security aware without prompting.
It may be some time before the full scale of the initially compromised accounts is known, the hacker could be sitting on dozens of account details that he hasn't touched yet, in which case this could continue for some time, even until he is caught.
The only quick remedy to this situation would be for every user to perform a full system scan and then change their passwords, completely impractical.
It seems Flickr will have to play a waiting game, and continue their good work in stamping out new "outbreaks"

There's also people who don't understand enough English or ar not computer savvy enough to understand those security messages. Not because the messages are too complicated but because some people understand next to nothing about computers - can't blame them but it means that no security alert will be 100% fool proof.
