Are you by chance on a slow internet connection?
I am always using the Uploadr, and on dial-up my photos take a while to be displayed. It looks like they are not there at first, but if I check back a while later, they are there. On DSL I see them instantly.

@rod3rick- Uploadr has nothing to do with Gamma actually. I would suggest trying switching your default browser in Windows to IE for the authorizing process, upload some images, then switch back the default browser back to your Firefox and see if you still get the authorizing issue.
@mikhailb- Actually, I've never heard the problem of pressing the 'See your photos' button sending you to the .EXE file- do you mean it opens up a Windows Explorer/file manager window to the application itself? What happens if you do not select the option to view your images now and just return to the application? As for the uploads, I wonder if you have tried again after a reboot, etc and see if there was a difference?
thanks

I have not been able to use the uploader desktop for 2 days. I have no idea why. I was able to use the uploader on the web page, but you can only upload 6 photos at a time. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Switching the default browser to IE doesn't seem to fix the issue mikhailb mentioned. I've been running into the same thing, and even after switching to IE, I'm still getting redirected to the uploader.exe directory. (Rebooting and/or reinstalling Uploader doesn't fix this, either.)
When pressing "done" on the uploads completed screen, Uploader goes back to the upload screen... with the images I tried uploading still sitting on it.

I am always having problems with the uploader, it has been bust for ages and is just not good enough. Can this not be fixed?
Every time I try to upload it seems to seems be bust. If I set it to upload, 20 photos, for example, it will upload the first few photos and then hang. It will then tell me that my photos ore online, which they are not. The problem looks to be caused by timeouts.
I am close to giving up with flickr, great concept, but if I can't upload more than a few photos at a time it is no good to me.

It seems like I'm having the exact same problem as "mikhailb" and "mrbula". I drop my photos into the uploadr and it seems to be uploading. When I click "see photos" it takes me to my account but shows that nothing has been uploaded. If I click "done" it opens up a file manager window to the application itself.
I've tried the Uploadr on 3 different computers, my home and two at work. Same results. I have LOTS of photos to upload. I haven't been able to us the Uploadr for almost a week now, and I don't know why.
I'm using Windows XP with IE. Anyone been able to solve this problem yet?

The uploadr isn't working for me either. I've tried numerous times lately and nothing. Well, not exactly 'nothing' but...
I've tried a large number of photos, (60 or so) and I've tried small groups (5) and on occasion, it tells me "Your photo's have been uploaded", but they haven't been. So, I'm lead to believe one of two things are true. Either the photos WERE uploaded (to where, I have no idea) or this thing is just lying to me.
Any decent updates on this Uploadr?
Thanks all

strangly, about a month ago, the uploader works fine for me, i was able to upload 20+ images. Now a day, it gets stuck with a few images. If the image were configure to go in a set, it will not, as the set will only be created after the whole batch is uploaded.
This unpredictability and unreliability of the uploader maybe cause by many things like local network jam. What ever the reason maybe, just assume that there are these possibilities, the uploader should at least create the set and put in and correctly inform the user the error not telling us "done".. while it isn't.

I was having the same issues mentioned here (said it uploaded... no progress bars... then opens the uploadr folder), but then I tried again setting only the tags and without specifying a *set*. This seemed to do the trick. Everything uploaded fine. I then had to use the web-based organizer to add the photos to sets, but better than doing 6 at a time via the web uploader.
Still... please fix the tool.

Ditto to the above. Hmm, thanks for that tip about not specifying a set. Yesterday, I had on and off luck with the Uploader and didn't realize why it would work sometimes and not others. Let me try again.

A new Uploadr is in testing right now. Meanwhile, uninstall your current Uploadr and run this tool from us which removes it's Windows registry entry. Follow the instructions in the README file. Then reinstall and see if that helps out.

Kevin -- thank you. This has fixed it! My girlfriend was going crazy because the uploadr randomly stopped working...
WinXP / firefox the default (tried setting IE as default). What would happen: A couple times we would be uploading a 'large' set of photos (20+) and it would upload some of them, say 'success' but not all photos were uploaded. When clicking Done, the photos that didn't upload would still be in the uploader queue. When trying to re-send these photos, it would not even try (the loading bar would almost instantly go to 100%) and then it would say 'success!.' Clicking on 'view photos' would take us to a WinExplorer view of whatever folder was last used. Restarting / using different photos didn't help.
Uninstalled, ran the 'clean registry' program, re-installed, and everything's OK

I used the uploadr 2.3 without problems, but now it suddenly started to only upload the last photo I dragged to it.
When I delete this from the uploadr window and click on upload again, it uploads the one now the last in the window, - but has forgotten all the tags and other settings I entered.
(Win XP).
I unistalled using the "software" option in Windows, executed your little programme above and after re-installing the same software package it seems to work again, - for now.

I am having the same problem than others.
Strangely enough, some of my images can be uploaded fine while others can never be.
I don't think it is a problem of network ling since I've tried one by one.
I am pretty sure that it is a problem of file format. Photos were taken with one camero (canon 20D) in JPEG and only processed by DXO which is an enhancement and noise reduction tool (no photoshop work on these)
I can provide links to both good and bad photos, if necessary.
Hope it helps.

Chrisian- Did it follow a pattern? In other words, did the images not processed by DXO fail to upload? Did Uploadr accept the files? Did it go through the motions of uploading them but they did not display? Or did it crash?

I've been unable to upload any pictures today. They seem to be working fine and then nothing or I get half a picture covered with gray. I have a very fast T1 line and doing a ping 100% should be going thru.
The other thing it will do is say uploading indefinetly without ever uploading a photo.
Here's what I get if it does upload at all:

Hi kjdrill
Ping unfortunately gives only partial data. When I diagnose the route between you and our image server, your very last end shows 12% packet loss after about 700 packets sent. That's usually not a big deal when you are downloading, but sending upwards it can make things difficult. I see you've uploaded a number of photos this month, so I'm assuming you are just having the problem right now (per your post).
If you are on Windows and you want to see where the packet loss is, run pathping to our image server.
Start > Run > cmd
Which opens up a DOS shell window. Type this in:
pathping static.flickr.com
...and hit enter. Let run until it's done, and the output will show where the packet loss occurs.

Hi Kevin,
Here are some findings :
- don't think its a problem with the image file : photo is uploaded fine when email link used. DXO is not involved, the genuine image can't be uploaded too
- it does not depend on the camera : other camera photo files can't be uploaded too
- it seems that for a single image, the transfer is interrupted always at a the same level, since the same file uploaded twice seems to produce a cutted image in flickr, with a gray background on part ot the image always at the same place
- the uploader is not involved since it is the same with the HTML uploader and even with external tools like jUploader
- it is sure that I am unable to upload any image since the last one that worked on June 19. It is not working anymore
My antivirus software is McAfee Viruscan Pro
I have a firewal (Windows and Netgear) and a router (Netgear)
There is something strange with pathping (but I can't interpret) :
>pathping -n static.flickr.com

Hi,
The Uploader tool for Windows seems to have a defect which causes large sets to be incompletely uploaded.
Quite a few times, when uploading between 50 and 100 photos in one go, it simply doesn't upload about half of them. The ones it misses appear to be pretty random.
It thinks its completed successfully and "verifys upload" successfully, but not all of the pictures are then on the web page.
I'd be grateful if you could let me know when this will be fixed as it's very annoying... I keep having to manually go through every upload and check which files its missed, and then manually reselect them on my PC and reupload. Not good!
I'm running Windows XP MCE 2005, SP2.
Is this updated beta release you mentioned available yet Kevin?
Many thanks,
Steve

I also have this problem, though I'm unable to upload even a single photo. My images are quite large (2048x1536). I was able to upload my first image with no problem using the web form, but I have so many to upload that I need a bulk upload tool.
I'm a new Pro member, and had I known before hand that I would have this sort of trouble, I might have saved my money.
When is the new version going to be available? Also, is there a flickr API where someone might be able to write their own program to do the uploads?
Thanks.

I'm having the same problems as everyone else. I'm travelling so am on a slow 56k mobile net-connect card. Altho' slow this seemed to work fine last week.
I noticed another poster mentioned that they had McAfee as a firewall/virus protection and have in the past had occasions where this has interfered with uploading and downloading - I will do some tests with this enabled and disabled to see what happens.

I am facing the same problem with Flickr uploader when uploading the large number of files (50+). But following are my obersvation.
- I observed this behaviour much more with my wireless network at home. I uploaded 150 picture from high speed connection at work. Only 4 pictures were left out.
- I saw a lot of duplicate pictures in photos even though i never uploaded duplicates.
- If i use drag and drop rather than 'send to flickr..' option from context menu i was able to upload all photos from my office(high speed).
- With drag and drop the picture are uploaded in alphabetic order. When i used send to flickr..' option from context menu they are uploaded in a random order.
- Upload verfication does not work.
Are you using connection less protocol like UDP to upload the photos?

Hi Chaps,
I've had the same problem longe time, trying out a lot versions of the Uploadr-program with no effect.
So every problem is a challange. At the same time I couldn't connect to the Internet with IE 6. But Firefox still fine.
By the way, please excuse my bad English... and greez a lot from Germany.
Ok, return to my story. I thought, the problem is connected to my WLan-Connection (DSL) and doin' a new setup. Same effect, no IE 6 no Flickr Uploadr.
So next thing I tried out, was to open IE 6, goin' to Extras - Internet-Options and than conections, doin' the point 'add on connection' - (hope it's the right name, in German it's called 'Hinzufügen'), than a new menue appears. check out the 'add broadband-connection' (in my Menue it is calles 'Breitband hinzufügen'). After that, IE works fine. And also Flickr Uploadr.
Don't know how IE 6 and Uploadr are connected.
For me everything is working still fine know.
Excuse my bad English. Maybe someone out there can do a better translation.
Hope it also works for you,
best regards and good luck,
Ulrich
PS: My configuration:
Notebook, Firewall Kaspersky Internet Security, Windows XP, SP2, WLAN, T-Sinus 154card and WLAN Router Sinus 1045 DSL

Uploadr on windows and mac will not connect on startup.
have no time to do extensive research on why uploadr stopt being able to connect on startup. switch off firewall and antivirus did not help. reinstall and re authorize did not work.
www.flickr.com/photos/remkovandokkum/183571272/
did switch to the 1001 upload programm on the mac and that works.
but i need my windows machine to have a working uploadr.
will wait patiently for the new beta to arrive.
a little diagnostic tool would be nice.
For the Flickr Team. keep up the good work.
