11 Jun 09 - Op het Buitenhof in Den Haag wordt op dit moment een enorme zandsculptuur gebouwd met als thema 'Celebrate Love and Passion'. De zandsculptuur is een compilatie van de sculpturen van de Noorse beeldhouwer Gustav Vigeland (1869 – 1943) en is van 2 juni t/m 28 augustus 2009 te bewonderen.

In het kader van The Hague Festivals wordt ook dit jaar op het Buitenhof een grote zandsculptuur gebouwd. Het centrale thema van The Hague Festivals is “Feel Free to Celebrate”. In 2009 wordt dit gecombineerd met het thema van Art Cities 2009: “Liefde, Kunst en Passie”. De titel van de zandsculptuur zal zijn: “Celebrate Love and Passion”. De grote sculptuur op het Buitenhof wordt een compilatie van de sculpturen van Gustav Vigeland, waarin op uiterst waardige wijze de levenscyclus van de mens wordt weergegeven, van wieg tot graf. “Mans journey from cradle to grave, through happiness and grief, through fantasy, hope and wishes of eternity”.
