About Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Yorkshire Wildlife Park opened in April 2009 on the site of the old Brockholes Farm.
Already there are Lemur Woods, a large walkthrough area in the woods with three species of the endangered lemur; the African Plains Paddock, with Kafue Flats Lechwe that keep having babies, Ankole cattle (calf born in 2010), ostrich and most recently addax; the most endangered carnivore in Africa, the Cape or Painted Hunting Dogs and Wallaby Walkabout. There are guanaco who also have babies which extremely cute.
The Park has recently been in the news with the rescue of 13 lions from a run down Romanian Zoo. The lions are now building their strength up and will be on show when their outside area is complete and they are well enough and happy to go out,
It's great to visit because there's always something new to see.
