05 Aug 08 - Should we add an add favourite to the rules?

Forgot to mention, would be great if you could find the rights for your country and post a thread for other people to read and understand... The UK, USA, Russia (in Russian) and Italy (In Italian) rights are now included in the discussion threads below.

Don't forget to add your best shots to the COMPETITION thread below. The group will vote for group icon as well as comment and invite images.

Best of luck

Craig

What is street photogrpahy?

People, Places, Buildings, Architecture in fact, for me, it's anything that is not in a studio and is away form my house. Based on this, I think anything goes...

Authority figures in the UK (and many other countries) are being heavy handed when dealing with photographers (Pro’s and hobbyists) using their cameras in public areas. This group is to encourage street photography of all kinds all over the world and give feedback on shots posted.

The Tate Modern in London (Street & Studio Flickr group) has been running a competition for Street photographers, but it is now at an end for 2008. I would like to keep the spirit of that group alive and champion street photography of all kinds.

Get out with your camera, shot anything and everything that moves and for that matter anything that doesn't.

I'd also like to draw your attention to a guide was written by Linda Macpherson, LL.B, Dip.L.P., LL.M, who is a lecturer in law at Heriot Watt University, with particular experience in Information Technology Law, Intellectual Property Law and Media Law.

Please comment on her site about this issue and raise awareness of the erosion of rights in the UK

The only aim of all of this is to have fun and get outside with your camera and show that public photography is neither sinister or otherwise.

Enjoy yourself and see if you can capture something amazing.

We’re all looking forward to seeing the results.

If you have any ideas or wish to comment, please join in, all thoughts, opinions or ideas are welcome.

We’re also looking for group, comment and invite icons, so I see a competition coming on... Get out there and get your photo as the icon.

All the best

.Craig
