time for a new beginning [deleted] says:
My 50/1.1 Voightlander Nokton. It's soft wide open and doesn't start getting sharp until f2, but I love shooting in available light.
The 50mm focal length is also extremely versatile.

I really like my 35mmf/1.8 on a nikon D80.
Today I received a D700 and nikkor 24mmf/1.4. Although I have not taken a shot, just know it will be my favourite lens. I think it is destined to be a classic

It would have to be the Nikkor 16-85mm VR. It's versatile, extremely sharp, and the VR is amazing, even from a car/train at highway speeds. I find most of the time I end up shooting at 16mm.

i havent used much but i absolutely fell in love with the 85mm 1.8. so fast, so naturally artful, especially on a crop body, its so tight it just makes for some great comps almost by accident.

This is a tough question, I guess I'd have to say my Canon EF85 f/1.8 but I have been shooting a lot recently with my Sigma 30 f/1.4. I also cheat so to speak as I have two bodies and so no changing lenses just pick up the body with the focal length I want or need.

As I only have one lens it would have to be my Nokin 50mm 1.8.
It is proving rather constricting at the moment though. Really need to invest in a new one!

My favorite lens is the NIkon 18-200mm VR DX Zoom lens. I use it 90% of the time for its versatility, zoom range (wide angle to telephoto) and the VR technology allows me to shoot at 1/15th of a second easily.
I know a lot of people say this is not a sharp lens and such but, if used correctly, can create stunning photos under conditions I never would have tried before.
Oh, and it's the perfect travel lens which keeps my bag light. A prime concern in today's world of travel.
I sure hope the rumors of Nikon bringing out a 28-300mm for FX is true so I can have this kind of lens for my future camera.

My favorite lens is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens. I used to own a different macro lens before, which helped me discover things I wasn't able to notice before because of their tiny size.
The new lens, which has the Image Stabilization feature and a nice wide opening for a macro lens, makes it easier for me to take sharp photos when I'm unable to use a tripod.

Easily my Tokina 11-16mm. I rented it first......loved it......bought it......haven't regretted it. It's a great wide angle.

It is definitely my Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens. Pin sharp and a great lens for portraits.

I love my 100 f/2.8 macro and my 17-40 f/4L.
Edit: I just picked up a Lensbaby Composer and so far love it. It may be a passing fancy but it's so much fun and spurs the creative mind.
Edit again: I picked up a 24-105 f/4L and it's on now most of the time followed by the 100 f/2.8 macro.

I find my kit lens (canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6) more than ample, although I only have 2 lenses to choose from :P. I have a new lens in the post though, sigma 17-70mm f2.8 :D

I use mostly the Nikkor 55-300 VR and also my 18-55 VR on occasions where I need a closer lens. I also have the 55-200 VR that came with the camera in a bundle deal but rarely use it now. My favorite is the 55-300 because I can capture wildlife with out disturbing them and get great distance shots where details count.

My favorite would have to be my Nikkor 17-55. Even though it is heavy and no VR, It is versatile and built like a tank.

I love my Tokina 11-16. It is my favorite lens, but I find that I use my Canon 15-85 more often because of the range.

Keep falling in and out of love with my 50mm f/1.8. Bokeh it produces still excites me.

Just as an update from 24 months ago, the 24mm f/1.4G has become my favourite lens. It rarely leaves my D700 unless I am doing some closeup work
