About The Front Porch - A Place for Family and Friends
Any porch is welcome here even if it isn't your front porch.
I grew up in a home that had a porch on every side of the house except one and all were gathering places for family and friends all year long - even in the cold of winter somehow you could catch people congregating on the porch and chatting away - it was a common staple in the South growing up.
My Grandmother's front porch had a wooden plank ceiling and for years had a hand blown glass lamp (later moved inside the house to the game room) that kept it well lit at night.
Eventually, my Grandfather added electric arched free standing table lamps with weatherproof fabric shades to the front porch and they accented the original free standing gas lamp on the side porch.
Those porches were magical to me and this is the place for your pictures of your front (or side or back) porch - not matter how big or small, formal or informal.
