About You Can Wear Kimono!
This is a group where people can show off their own kitsuke (kimono wearing) or photos of everyday people wearing kimono traditionally! We are especially interested in proper kitsuke and coordination, so please upload photos that show off your outfit to its greatest advantage!
We do also accept experimental kimono fashion, but it must be grounded firmly in traditional kitsuke. We'd love you to discuss how your outfit is different from the norm. (Wa-loli is too extreme for us.)
We are happy to accept
--photos of you wearing your own kimono
--photos you've taken of average women and men dressed in kimono
--vintage photos or postcards of people wearing kimono
We would not like to see
--geisha, geisha henshin, or geisha cosplay (there are so many Flickr groups that celebrate geisha already! We're more interested in regular folks.)
--kimono displayed with nobody wearing them
--woodblock prints or other artwork
--photos of dolls in kimono - real people only!
--No screenshots from SL or similar games
--"faux" kimono or "faux" kitsuke--we don't want to see satin bathrobes or erotic photoshoots with draped kimono.

--Anime cosplay kimono outfits

Feel free to ask for kitsuke and coordination critique! If you do so, though, please indicate what level of critique you're interested in receiving (i.e. brutally honest, gentle, etc.)
