About Y.E.S. at Dickens on the Strand Dickens on the Strand, Galveston, Texas. An annual event hosted by the Galveston Historical Society that celebrates the beginning of the holiday season in Victorian style. Our group of friends, sometimes referred to as the Yesteryear Enthusiasts Society, enjoys a full weekend of costumed, period fun. From the Gingerbread Ball on Friday night, throughout the weekend event, we have a great time. And we love making new friends!	Additional Information This is a public group.
