About YES! Magazine - USSF
:::: Share your best photos from the U.S. Social Forum ::::
YES! Magazine invites you to share your photos from the historic U.S. Social Forum in Atlanta, Georgia, June 27 - July 1, 2007. We'd like to pull photos from this pool to share on the YES! website and/or in the printed magazine. We'll contact you if we're interested in using a particular photo, to get your confirmation beforehand.
You'll find ongoing YES! coverage of the Social Forum, including our group blogs, at www.yesmagazine.org/ussf
If you haven't posted photos on Flickr before, here's a quick step-by-step:
1. Create a login. It's fast, there's no charge, and you can do it at www.flickr.com. In so doing, you'll automatically create a unique Flickr website for your photos -- and from there, you'll be able to send photos to the YES! photo pool.
2. Upload photos. Without any charges involved, you'll be able to upload up to 100MB of photos each calendar month. To increase your bandwidth, or get additional details about the ins & outs of having a Flickr account, visit the Flickr FAQ. Flickr has an easy to use 'Upload' tool that will walk you through the process of moving photos from your computer to your new Flickr site -- just look for the Upload link.
3. Join the YES! Magazine - USSF group. You'll need to 'join' our photo group before you can add photos to the pool. Joining is easy -- it's just a click away -- but you'll need to be logged in first. Once you're logged in, look for the Join YES! Magazine - USSF group link on this page. Click this link to 'join' YES! Magazine-USSF.
4. Send your photos to the YES! photo pool. Click on one of your USSF photos -- that'll take you to the individual webpage specific to that photo. You'll see a menu of options lining the top of the photo. Choose Send to Group. You'll see YES! Magazine-USSF listed there -- select that option, et voila!, you've sent your image to the shared photo pool.
5. For extra fun, add 'tags' to your photo to help people find specific images -- for instance, you might want to add: yes-ussf, ussf2007, another world is possible, si se puede, giant puppets, etc. -- just look for the Add a tag link on a photo's individual webpage.
This is a public photo pool, so all of your photos will be visible to Flickr folks and the world beyond, unless you designate otherwise. When you're first posting the photo to Flickr, you'll have the option to make your photos public, so all can see them; semi-private where only members of this photo group can see them; and private, where only you will see them -- in which case, no point in adding them to the pool. :-) You can change your privacy settings for each photo on Flickr at any time.
See you in Atlanta - and let's have some photo-sharing fun together!
