About YDM4 - The Endangered ALCO Species of Indian Railways
YDM4 - The Endangered ALCO Species of Indian Railways
YDM4 is a 1350 hp ALCO designed diesel locomotive. It is the main work horse of entire Metre Gauge (MG - 1000mm) Sections of INDIAN RAILWAYS.
Due to the unigauge policy of INDIAN RAILWAYS, the MG tracks are now converted to Broad Gauge (1676mm). As a result, these YDM4 locomotives are now in the mainline of its extinction.
So, I request all the RAILFANS and FLICKR MEMBERS to add their valuable photographs of these cute YDM4 / YDM4A locomotives to this group.
