Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) was founded in 1925, to fund research into the cause and cure of cancer, which today, accounts for one in four deaths in this country.
We are an independent charity, based and operating in Yorkshire only. We are still, however, at the very forefront of the international fight to find a cure for cancer.
We are passionate about research and only fund world class projects, as reviewed by external experts. The concentration of specialists and their expertise in Yorkshire means that cancer sufferers in Yorkshire and the world over have access to some of the best treatment and therapies.
In the last financial year YCR funded, just short of £4 million on research across Yorkshire.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is very efficient in terms of fundraising, for every £1 we invest we raise almost £6.
