About World Wide Wesak

Wesak is celebration of the most significant event in Buddhism: the day the Buddha attained supreme Enlightenment. Over thirty years ago to celebrate the first Wesak festival at the LBC many small plaster Buddha's were created. To celebrate Wesak 2009 we are giving these Buddha's away and inviting people to share photographs* of them wherever in the world they travel to. After sharing your photograph you might like to invite others to do the same by giving the Buddha away or leaving it where you photographed it for someone else to discover.

*note: Due to Flickr's moderation policy photographs from new members might not be visible on the LBC website until sometime after they have uploaded four other images to their new account. However the photographs will be immediately visible here to other members of this group. Additional images will alert Flickr to review your account as being 'safe' and do not need to be photos of a Buddha sent to this group.
