About The "Smiles for World Peas" day: April 12, 2008

It's simple, really. I'm a dad now (8 1/2 months in) and I love seeing babies / kids smile. In fact, I'm convinced that bearing witness to such a smile is a panacea for the bitter, jaded soul. Hell, en masse children's smiles might even do some amazing stuff, like trigger world peace, cause the clothing of asshats around the world to shrink two sizes, or eradicate male back hair forever.

I'm really hoping to get smiles from all over the world. If we get enough, maybe we can make Kim Jong-Il's pants to shrink while he's in them, Osama Bin Laden's underwear to become uncomfortably chaffing, and Dan Hedeya's back hair to magically vanish.

So here's the deal:

1. On April 12th, 2008, take one photo of your kid(s) smiling and post it to this group. No photos before or after the 12th!

If you do not have a Flickr account, you can send your photos to me and I can post them for you: send them to worldsmileday [at] hushboom [dot] com.

2. One photo per child max - I don't want to see dozens of photos of your child, I just want to see YOUR MOST AWESOME ONE.

3. Photos should be of your child or baby (or a friend's, with their permission). Adult smiles, while nice, aren't what we're after here.

4. Your photo can be all rights reserved, creative commons licensed, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Here's a perfect example: Here's a pre-emptory smile from my kid. And Scott's daughter's lovely smile was the original muse for this idea
