TAGGING GUIDELINES

Please read and follow these tagging guidelines correctly before posting your photos to the group pool!

Just tag both WorldofMinerals and WoM:unidentified if you wanted to let others identify your specimen. Please do NOT start a new topic in discussion regarding identification.

Remember to TAG your photo
Before you add your unidentified specimen in the pool, tag it with WoM:unidentified.
If your specimen is already identified, tag it with THE TAGS BELOW before you add it in the pool.
Please remember to completely tag your photo, otherwise untagged photo will be moderate and will be removed from the pool. Photo removed from the pool will be tagged WoM:removed by moderator, you can always add it back in the pool after you had your photo tagged.

If your specimen is successfully identified, replace the WoM:identified tag with the complete tags as below.

The tagging should make it easy to find which are yet to be identified and prevent them from getting lost in the archives of the group.

Respond to potential identifications
When someone leaves a suggested ID, let them know you've read it by responding. If you don't agree, please say so and at least give a reason. You may also wanted to tag WoM-idby:[username] to indicate the person who successfully identified your specimen.

Example Photo and tags:

This is a fluorite crystal set on a barite matrix, so I tagged it with fluorite and barite.
