13 Feb 12 - Hello Everyone and thank you for the super photos you've been submitting to the pool.

Let's keep in mind the theme of two distinct portions to the frame, so that together they make a whole, but are each compositions in their own right.
Have a look through the pool for inspiration, have fun and invite your contacts!

Happy flickring

Alison

About World of Two Halves (WoTH) - Bilateral photography

Objective:
------------
The challenge is to creatively and artistically capture and compose two contrasting and distinct images in one photo.

Rules:
--------
1. Please only upload photos that seem to contain two halves of distinct or contrasting images. The more distinct and contrasting the halves are the better.

Please note: To maintain the integrity of the group's rules, photos that don't seem to contain two distinct halves will be removed, hope you are not offended.

2. The distinct or contrasting image on each half could either be due to a difference in color, lighting, focus, depth of field, point of view, subject, design, pattern or texture.

3. Each half should seem to be divided into almost equal areas either horizontally, vertically, diagonally, geometrically or symmetrically. Ideally the halves should be equally divided (50/50), however close to equal areas would be good enough. Here are other great examples:
Setor
Campo di grano
Dettifoss
Liveaboard diving trips
Follow the Bokeh in Paradise
Winter sunset 2
Untitled by jacburger
Life on a liveaboard
Autumn green
Lickable trees
Untitled by jacburger
norwegian boathouse
castle-gate buildings
Run-up

red green dip
Beyond colours

4. Another challenge to make the photo more interesting is to frame the main subject with a background of two distinct halves. Here are some great examples from our members:
On the straight and narrow
SRI-TRI spotter
Hello You
Sands of Samoa
kaikoura holiday
PUJANT I BAIXANT
Across the cemetery
Don't look she's got the camera
Guararema-SP
Being neighborly
Processed with Analog
Morning webs
Watching the sunset
CREU DE FUSTA
Bug on a rug

5. Please do not post images that were created from two photos merged into one.

6. No photos on nudity or violence are allowed.

7. Would appreciate that these rules are followed. If you are not sure if your photo is appropriate for the group please send a Flickr mail to the administrator with the link to the photo.
