About Child in the Woods

This is a group for photographs of children *connecting* with the natural world (not necessarily just woods). What I'd like to focus on is the intensely personal magical moments where a child is totally enraptured with the natural world ... This pool is inspired by the book "Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder" by Richard Louv.

**PLEASE NOTE** There cannot be any sign of civilization (other than the clothes and immediate accessories of the child). In other words, no telephone wires, no concrete, no buildings, no garden hoses, no manicured lawns, etc. Forest is great. Desert, fine. The beach is good ... even your own backyard. But please no windows, fences, walls, houses ... you get the picture. The idea is to capture the connection between the child(ren) and nature.

This isn't a place for children's portraits either. There are plenty of groups for that already. Show us kids in action, contemplative kids, kids engaging with nature, but not kids engaging with your camera lens!

Please understand that if your photo does not fit these parameters it will be respectfully removed.
