PLEASE READ THE UPDATED RULES OF THE GROUP.

This Group is documentary as well as artistic, so it is important to know where the photo was taken. Photos MUST be geotagged as a bare minimum or they will be automatically rejected. Additionally, location information is useful in the photo's title, description or tags.

IF YOU DO NOT ADD GEOTAG LOCATION DATA , YOUR PHOTOS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Contact me by Flickr mail if you feel you have been unfairly treated in this respect.

About Woodland of the British Isles

This is a group for photographs which capture the essence of the woodlands of the British Isles as a physical geographic entity, i.e. - England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

All sorts of photographs are welcomed, so long as the main subject includes trees or a single tree in a wood. Let's explore and celebrate the texture of trees, their colours, shapes and sizes at all times of the year and in all weathers and lighting.

Other plants, birds, animals, insects, fungi etc., are fine too, so long as their setting in the photograph is directly connected with woodland.

Please include an informative title for your pictures and a description which tells us something about the picuture - tree names perhaps, or why you like it.

In a Group like this which is documentary as well as artistic, it is especially important to know where the photo was taken. Photos must be geotagged and preferably have a location in the photo's title, description or tag (or any combination of these). A vague description such as 'Yorkshire', 'Sussex' etc., is not sufficiently precise.
