19 Aug 09 - If you'd like specific criticism on elements of your posted image, start a discussion with a medium size copy of your image for people to comment directly on. See example "How can I shift the focus to my subject better?" Also, if there is an image (someone else's) whose technique you'd like to emulate, post it and solicit suggestions on how to do so; also, post a link back to the original and give credit where credit is due.

About WNY Photo Critique

This group was formed because a growing number of us are tired of seeing "nice shot" and "good job" as the only comments made on our posted photos. The aim of this group is to solicit constructive criticism of your photos, and to learn from each other. As a member of this group you are expected to comment on other peoples work, which means you actually look at the elements within the photo, and in doing so, you comment on the technique, presentation, setup, etc that you like or dislike. It's ok If you dislike a photo, but if you do, we encourage you to offer suggestions as to how the person who posted it can present their work better.

This group is a public group, but membership is by invite only. If you'd like to join, send us a Flickrmail and let us know you're interested.
