About WLA Photography
The aim of this group is to provide amateur photographers with an opportunity to be creative by shooting the types of subjects we wouldn\'t normally photograph. The goal also is to offer an informal and supportive environment in which to receive feedback on our work.
The group meets once a month in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area. At each meeting, we come up with an assignment (such as "portraits" or "reflective surfaces") and present our photographs from the previous month.
Occasionally, we may plan a group field trip (such as taking photos of the LA Marathon) in lieu of an assigment, but in general, assignments are undertaken individually.
Although I coordinate the logistics of the events, members are expected to paricipate in completing the assignments, providing feedback and coming up with new topics.
Experience with photography is not required. However, participation is based on the assumption that you have basic understanding of how a camera works and how to frame a picture.
