About Winged Fantasies (Where Angels & Fairies Fly)

Description: This group is about fantasy images depicting winged people, angels, fairies and other denizens of similar type. The important feature is the wings! Photo manipulations or paintings are very acceptable. Submissions must be of high quality and have artistic merit. I am less interested in severely dark and ghoulish depictions.

If you submit images, please make sure that the wings are at least partly visible. Angelic figures with no wings are not accepted. Also, images depicting angels in statues, tombs, etc. are likewise not accepted. Please don't send images of people wearing wing costumes (unless it flows seamlessly into artwork).

Finally, I accept classical art of angels, but would like a good mix with contemporary works done by flickr members.

Fantasy art is very welcome, but I am not really interested in anime or comic-book type depictions, or heavily digitized and stylized representations, or second life type depictions. I prefer more subtle, yet realistic portrayals. I admit this is a matter of taste.
