About Just Windows!
For windows from around the world.
window: glass in a fixed, sliding or hinged frame which is fitted in an opening in a wall, roof or vehicle. The window admits light and/or air and allows the occupants to see out (and others to see in!). In some cases the window may be a simple hole or slot in a wall.
WARNING: Guideline intensive group
For windows from around the world - windows seen from the inside or the outside.
The window(s) must be the main subject of the photo.
Please add the location of the window(s) in the description or as a tag and tag the photo with "window".
Due to the popularity of the group and the number of images a Just Windows! Photoblog has been set-up to display windows nominated by group members. To nominate another member's window for the Photoblog go to here.
The following guidelines have been produced to achieve the main aim of the group which is to produce a stream of windows from around the world
Images will be removed from the pool if there has been no attempt to make the window or windows the main feature of the image. For example, the following are not suitable: buildings, glass buildings, the side of a building showing a small part of a window, glass walls, glass ceilings, skylights, glass floors, glass halls, glass corridors, glass structures, glass doors, door lights, glass in doors, views through a window, views through a hole or gap, views, reflections, people or animals that are more prominent than the window.
Shop, restaurant and café windows are excluded because there are already a number of groups for them. e.g. [ SHOP WINDOW ] [ Shop Windows ]
The following types of glass images are excluded: glass only, reflections in glass or mirrors, mirrors and multiples of the same window
Other window groups: [Doors & Windows Project] [Windows and balconies]
[Window seat please] [From my window] [Window Shopping]
The pool should show straightforward photography so no heavy manipulations, light experiments, mosaics, montages, collages, computer graphics, elaborate or decorative borders (borderless preferred), large titles (no titles preferred) or drawings/paintings.
Images that don't fit the guidelines will be removed from the pool. If one of your images has disappeared you may find the explanation in the group description above. If you don't understand why your image has been removed please contact one of the admins by Flickr e-mail.
