About THE WINDOW FRAME

Main theme is to capture the view framed by the window frame. It holds the picture together in a 'still frame' forever. Windows frames are universal and through this group we share shots of window frames freezing the views from around the world.

It may have stood the passage of time at the Great Wall of China, the Greek church, the Indian palace, the castle ruins, the pyramids. It may be part of the abstract modern architectural structure framing the harbor view, the downtown skyline, the rainy morning. But it always captures and holds the view.

The frame may be simple or detailed with stained glass, steel, ornamental grillwork, bars, curtains, etc. By itself the frame may be old, rusty, ornamental, shiny, steel, oriental, brick, wood, bamboo, crumbling, arched, ancient, modern, faded, colorful, square, round or just standing lonely at an old ruin.

The frame may be sorrounded by artwork, plants, flowering creepers, window signs, graffiti, clothesline on the outside, etc. It may be the favorite spot for a cat, the show off ledge to sit on or pose, or the perfect place to put the flowering pot.

It may also be a view from outside onto the window thus capturing the window in its own frame. The window shutters, blinds, shades, panes, or window doors become part of that scenery.

The window frame is the central character here that in reality fades into its surrounding scenery or other details.
