06 Mar 07 - Please look at the thread on interpretation and weigh in with your opinion. As administrator, I am thinking of enforcing the theme a little to only include photos that include, somewhere in the picture, some aspect of human activity. "Man vs. Wild", if I may use an already coined phrase. The original idea was to show the edge of nature. A picture without this edge actually in the picture (even if it is truly on the edge) could be anywhere from the point of view of the viewer.

About Wildness - The Edge of Nature

Our map page -- Not a requirement, but a hope -- please geotag your images so that they appear on the map page.

I am forming this group to satisfy one of my own curiosities about how close we live to the wildness of nature. Most people in general live within the bounds of their own technology rarely taking steps off the sidewalk or driving back on that dirt road they always pass. The journey of discovery lies down these untraveled ways.

This pool is intended to collect juxtapositions -- modern world against wild world. Appropriate pictures could include nature's attempt to reclaim that which we have built up or possibly what we are attempting to suppress for our own humble gain.

I look forward to seeing some of your interpretations.
