About 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act

On September 3rd, 1964, theWilderness Act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, establishing the legal definition of wilderness and forever protecting wild places in the United States of America.

The 50th anniversary of this historic event will occur in 2014 and this group exists to document events, such as Wilderness Walks, occurring across the nation in celebration of wilderness.
