I know it breaks all the rules (thirds, central horizon etc) but i just liked it. I took it with my old pentax mz50 on 100 film i think ? ive taken out dust and noise from scanning it in on my old flatbed with photoshop

This month was very difficult to judge, with so many different interpretations and hence varied photos we had some great entries this time round.
Sped98 captured dynamic silhouettes of children running through the surf; I could almost hear their laughter ringing out. The theme of people or animals being the focal point was popular and was shared by Matthew Fisher, Debbi Bowness, Chris.R.C, Karen, Cragrat and Laura Murphy among others.
   
Life quite literally “on” the beach was the theme for some more entries. WKWeighman’s teddybears’ picnic and Karly’s lateral thinking adding a touch of humour!

With two honourable mentions in the bag for this month, the first of these goes to Matthew Fisher with this shot of a couple standing on a beach, it is nicely composed and in many ways suggests a small part of a bigger picture;
Second honourable mention is JadDuke’s picture of a small sea snail which is brilliantly simple and the spiral is perfectly in focus. The snail, away from its home in the rocks, might ironically think to itself “life’s a beach”…
However the winner this month was Donna Brookes who again posted a great abstract which ticked the required boxes with a moment in time showing life on the beach and some very creative thinking that reminded me of the opening sequence of the TV series “The Prisioner”.
Overall some great entries and a huge thankyou to everyone who submitted.

WOW! Thank you very much Dave! This is the first competition I've won since I was 7, when I won a 'name the doll' competition at a school fete!...lol
You're right Dave some brilliant photos this month. My money was on JaDuke's snail, lovely shot. Well done to everybody, standards are getting higher and some really creative stuff is coming out of these competitions, it's a really good idea Alan, gets everybody thinking :-)

Congrats Donna, I too think its a well deserved shot ! In fact both of your shots ! I'm also over the moon that I got the first honarable mention ! I strangely took this picture from the top of a hotel while in Cancun, Mexico about 2 years ago while drunk ! I might have to try that more :-)
I personally liked Darren Kay's shots with dramatic dark shadows and beautifully flowing water. I also adored the colours in 'magicadey' whitehaven harbour shot ! Welldone everyone ! I can't wait for the next topic !
