About The Yorkshire Shop Signwriter - A tribute to Bomber Brown

This group celebrates the work of Bomber Brown, one of the most prolific shop signwriters in West Yorkshire (and maybe beyond?). His work is distributed around Leeds (Kirkgate Market, Merrion Superstore), Bradford, Haworth, Wetherby and stretching over the Pennines at times. His style is distinctive. Once recognised it can be spotted all over. His work generally covers low cost shops and has therefore come to lend a sense and atmosphere to the West Yorkshire 'look'. I have never met him though I have heard tales that he has been known to work for payment in Special Brew, and often paints the sign in situ. If and when you spot his work please feel free to add your photo. Any anecdotes of his work/character are welcome in this group.
