About WEIRD US
In the style of Weird US (www.weirdus.com), this group will focus on the ultimate photo finds: Roadside Wonders, Bizzare Sightings, Eccentric Homes, essentially anything that is outside of the so-called 'norm'. Pictures of amusment parks and family holidays would not fit in this group - we are searching for the weird and unusual.
If possible, give us a description of your picture, or better yet a story of how you came across it. Maybe there's a local legend or tale that goes along with your image. Of course a general idea as to where your find is located, (or better yet exact directions), would be more than welcome.
Please do not post pictures of Disney World here, unless you have an excellent and truly bizzare story to go along with your image.
Let's have some fun. I will post a few pictures to get us started. In the meantime, check out www.WeirdUS.com, you will love these guys. I just got Weird Florida (they started off with Weird New Jersey), and it is one of the most entertaining travel/roadside attractions/folklore books that I have ever read.
A quick word from the admin... I recently went through and removed pictures from this group. Please note that I was in no way making comment on your images, (and some were very good), but I removed them because they did not fit with the motif of this group. Weird US is about finding bizzare places in your travels - it is not about creating weird images in Photoshop or shooting an abstract of a broken pencil sitting on a curb (not something that was done here). There are many groups on Flickr that these types of images fit in well with. Weird US is much more and I invite you to re-read the above as a reminder of what this group is about.
** When posting, please provide additional information (and locations) regarding your photos. Weird US is not only about the image, but often the story that goes behind what the viewer is seeing.
