Nice composition, great atmosphere. I like the fact that the only colors come from the humans... while the nature around is dark and hostile.
The reflections on the wet sand are a charming detail.
I think you could have cropped a bit more on the lower part (and maybe leave a bigger portion of ocean on the top).

I would likely have screwed this up by boosting the brightness. Good restraint in addition to its other virtues.

Gee thanks!! I could not crop any wider as the background has a headland in it. I just love this part of the world -- SW England

yes, this is beautiful. I think the people are like little ants, about to enter an enormous ocean. But jaunty, happy ants :) The light is just right. Keeper

Really lovely. Beautifully balanced exposure and nice framing (I agree with gio's suggestion but understand that wasn't possible). Chuckled at the calligraphy comment - they really do! keeper

Excellent composition.... I especially like the panoramic crop and the slightly subdued light... well done!

nicely done....wonderful feel. As an alternative....and only as that, I'd love to see a high key, graphic style version of this. The distant panorama seems a natural for it. Keeper
