Photo Contest #72 (January 1-4, 2010) Theme: “Monochrome”
Congratulations to kzthenurse as winner of last weekend’s contest, “The Wonder of Life”. She’s chosen “Monochrome” as this weekend’s assignment theme.
Wikipedia defines “Monochrome” as: “A term generally used to describe painting, drawing, design, or photograph in one color or shades of one color. Monochromatic light is light of a single wavelength, though in practice it can refer to light of a narrow wavelength range. A monochromatic object or image is one whose range of colors consists of shades of a single color or hue; monochrome images in neutral colors are also known as grayscale or black-and-white. Ready? 1. To enter a photo to the contest, post your photo in Medium size to this thread, 1 entry per member per contest. (Make sure to use the #1 code in the html box so your photo is linked to your photostream! If you aren’t sure how to do this, let us know!)
2. Entry photos must be included the Weekend Assignment and Contest group pool. Please tag your pool photos with: “Weekend Assignment and Contest Group”
3. Number your entries above your photo. The contest will close at about 7pm PST on Monday evening [0300UTC Tuesday morning].
5. The entered photo must be taken by you, within the timeframe of the assignment (Friday, 7am PST [1500UTC] through Monday, 7pm PST [Tuesday 0300UTC]) You may change your entry as long as it is within the posting time frame.
6. Voting will commence immediately after the contest closes, and be open for 48 hours. The winning entry will be posted and the winner notified about Wednesday, 7pm PST [Thursday 0300UTC].
7. Do not change your entry number once voting starts. Administrators will ensure entry numbers are not duplicated prior to the voting period.
8. If you post an entry, return between Monday and Wednesday evening to vote for a winner!
9. If you win a contest, you get to pick the subject for the next weekend assignment and contest! Winning entries will be displayed on the front group page until the next contest concludes
Failure to follow these rules will result in disqualification and your photo will be removed from the contest thread.
Please do not chat in this thread; it makes it harder to manage!
