22 Aug 09 - "wdydwyd?" has a big exhibit at the Burning Man Festival this year. Aug 31-Sept 7, 2009.
We're also doing a collaborative art process again. If you want to try it, just bring a camera (still or video), meet us at the exhibit around 2pm Tues, Wed or Thurs, then we’ll explain everything and have some supplies. Or you can find details here: wdydwyd.ning.com/group/bm/forum

About wdydwyd?

A worldwide community-art project to answer the simple question "why do you do what you do?" by combining an image + text in a creative and visually compelling way.

Use Photoshop, handwrite directly on a picture, make a collage and scan it, or simply hold a sign for a self-portrait.

(optional) We dare you to: (1) write a CAPTION that says a little bit more about wydwyd, and
(2) be BRUTALLY HONEST. It's easy to answer "wdydwyd – at your best?" but harder to answer "wdydwyd – at your worst?" We all have some of both types of answers.

> The story of the project:

I was in my office late one night not wanting to be bothered.

Phone rang. I wanted to ignore it, but I felt compelled to answer.

A child blurted, "Why do you do what you do?" (without saying hello)

The question has haunted me (in a good way) and sparked this community-art project. Now, thousands of people have answered it around the world.
