This group is for participants of Sarah and Laura's World Diabetes Day Photo Scavenger Hunt. This is where you will upload your pictures to be judged in the contest.

My sister and I (Sarah and Laura) have together joined TEAM DIABETES CANADA, a group of women and men who have made an extraordinary commitment to the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA). We are committed to participating the Conquer the Volcano team challenge together, and must raise a collective $12,200 minimum to successfully complete our challenge!

Neither of us are athletes, but we have accepted the discipline, the time and commitment necessary to be successful. We have joined TEAM DIABETES CANADA knowing that the money we raise will be instrumental in the fight against diabetes. Did you know that more people die from diabetes every year than AIDS/HIV? Diabetes is the unknown epidemic of our time.

In order to help raise money, we’ve planned a photo scavenger hunt! There will be prizes (to be announced) for first, second and third place valued at $100, $50 and $25 respectively (Canadian participants only, sorry) and you will have fun! It costs only $10 to register (see below), money that goes towards our fundraising goal, and you get a charitable gift receipt!


How to join Sarah and Laura’s World Diabetes Day Photo Scavenger Hunt:

1. Email us (wddphotohunt@gmail.com) to let us know you are in! Participants can register as late as possible up to November 14th, but in order to get the list early, you should register by November 5th.

2. Make a $10 donation to confirm participation (you can form a team but only one person should register and prizes will be shared) - we will email you a link to make your donation once you submit your email registration.

3. The photo list (15 items) will be released via email on the evening of November 5th – just over one week before World Diabetes Day (November 14th). Only participants who have made their $10 donation will be sent the list. Start hunting and get as many items as you can. Have fun and be creative!

4. Upload your photos to our Flickr group by the end of the day (11:59 p.m.) on November 14th.

5. That’s it! Sarah and Laura will work out who got the most pictures. If there is a tie, we will be using one pre-determined image and a panel of five blind (non-participating) judges to choose the most creative entry. Winner will be announced by Sunday, November 21st.
