About wave vector

This group is specific to flickr users who create their own music. all pictures posted must have links to sound files that you created (last fm/myspace/personal site..all fine) OR be a video file of your music.

This group is mainly for non-commercially friendly producers/musicians/noisemakers who work in sub genre fields of musical studies (Experimental,noise,circuit-bent,free jazz,darkwave,ect...) and wish to bounce ideas, collaborate, or just share. Please, free thinking progressives only...

If your cock rock band is going to be the Myspace band of the month and you are worried about the copyright on your newest ballad, it might be better posting somewhere else. thanks for understanding.

Wave vector
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

A wave vector is a vector representation of a wave. The wave vector has magnitude indicating wavenumber (reciprocal of wavelength), and the direction of the vector indicates the direction of wave propagation.

The wave vector is most useful for generalizing the equation of a single wave into a description of a family of waves. As long as the family of waves all travel in the same direction and with the same wavelength, a single wave vector is valid for the entire family. The most common case of a family of waves that meets these requirements is the plane wave, in which the family of waves is also coherent, i.e. all the waves have the same phase.
