Can anyone help identify this bird ?

I think this is a Common Goldeneye.
The wierd thing is I opened up the bird ID book randomly and their it was, 'course I went back to see if their was another that looked simalar.

I've had some feedback from elsewhere and I think its actually a hooded Merganser.

Had to look at it in a bird book, and I'm not realy a birder, but it looks sort of simalar to the Killdeer.

Thanks for your answer. But I'm not too sure it is a Killdeer. This is more like a duck and is actually quite big. I'll keep searching.

It is an Egyptian goose also called Nile goose.
