The American Civil War
Division and strife has always been a part of American history as it has always been a part of human history. The strength of this country has been the ability to work its way through those hard times and emerge even stronger. However, no time in history has been more difficult and troubling that the War Between the States. At least 618,000 Americans died in the Civil War; some experts say the toll reached 700,000. The number most often quoted is 620,000. At any rate, these casualties exceed the nation's loss in all its other wars, from the Revolution through Vietnam.
This group is dedicated to those who died or sacrificed in other ways for the cause they believed in regardless of the side they fought for. This group is for the memory of those souls. It is not a forum for ideology or political opinions.
Photos wanted include historical sites, reenactments, hardware (equipment, memorabilia, etc.), old photos or other photos that represent the War Between the States. If old photos from the period are included and they do not belong to you please include credits. Do not submit copyrighted material without consent. There are no quantity limits. These are the only rules. Please adhere to them.
