27 Jun 07 - These upgrades cost real people real money. You are welcome to try, but remember to "Hope For" not Expect an upgrade. Yes they happen, but not like the days of the free Yahoo merger upgrades.

About I want a free Pro account - RequestZone (Max two[2] pics in pool
Are you looking for one of those coveted free Pro account offers? Well instead of begging in the other discussion areas or harassing Pro users by sending e-mails out blindly; Post your best picture here and hope it gets noticed by a kind person, who grants you one of their free Pro account upgrade. Only two(2) photos per user-id maximum. Exceed that and all your photos will be removed from the group.
Notice: The free Yahoo takeover upgrades expired back in July of 2005. Any upgrades done at this point will cost the giver real money. The only exception I know of is if they have an unused account to turn over to you. So while upgrades will probably be less frequent they can still happen.

Thinking of donating a Pro account upgrade to someone but don't know where to start looking? Why not just take a random walk thru our photos and see what you find.
GustavoG has recently created a new tool that will give a random selection of photos from a group and display them six at a time. To give it a try just try the link below.

++++++ Info for Pros who would like to upgrade someone ++++++
The two(2) 'free pro upgrades' were given to people who were paid Pro members before the Yahoo buyout and who paid the old higher price (which was $40 something I think, the new price is $24.95) The upgrade took place in mid-April 2005 so if you went Pro after that(and paid the $24.95/year price) you probably don't qualify for the gift upgrades.
They should have sent you an e-mail at the announcement time with a link to one of the appropriate pages.
I am told that another method, (starting from the home page I assume). You have to click to the "we have a gift for you page," then search for your person and go there, and then you find the "click here" to give the person a link
Another person said that they just clicked on the person's icon, which brought them to their photo page, and clicked the link that said "give him a free account"
I was one of the people upgraded so I haven't actually done the free upgrade procedure.
Thank you for thinking of us WannBePros,
