02 Feb 10 - Hello Photographers:
Please remember that the subject for this group is Washington Wildlfowers: flowers, ferns, and fungi.

Please do not post pictures of critters, trees, leaves, fruits, berries, rosehips, seeds or other non flower, non fern, non-fungus subjects.

Thanks so much for your help in making this such a great tool for botanists and plant lovers here in Washington State.

About Washington State Wildflowers

Washington state is home to many diverse biological communities all with their own characteristic flora. This group is for posting and sharing information about wildflowers native to Washington state.

Some initial guidelines might help to make the group more useful:

Please identify your photos by tagging them with the common and botanical names. If you know more than one common name, please include it as well.

Dates and sizes are also useful, if you can include them in the image description.

Also, please tag your photos with "WA Wildflowers" so that others can search for them.

Finally, please include a tag with the name of a city or town nearby where your image was taken. We don't want to disturb any endangered species so more precise information than that is unneeded.

If you're an expert, please consider adding tags to other member's pictures, if you know a common name or the botanical name of the flowers depicted in the image.

This site is primarily for flowers - so please post your pictures of our amazing trees, leaves, fruits, or seeds on sites that are more specific to them. All that said, fungi and ferns are ok to include here.

If you have any other ideas to make this group more useful or fun, please let me know.

Thanks!

DougR.
