About Live Long and Prosper

The Vulcan Salute. A symbol that has its origins in the Jewish faith, and was later made famous by Leonard Nimoy's character Spock in the original Star Trek episode, "Amok Time." For Vulcans, the salute is traditionally accompanied by the greeting "Live long and prosper." People may also say "Peace and long life" and receive a reply "Live long and prosper."

This group is for anyone who has ever made this hand gesture that has become known around the world. To me, it is a symbol of passing on much needed "peace" in the 21st Century and beyond. So, a previously love of Star Trek is not a requirement.

Please post original photographs, scans or original artwork of this Vulcan salute. Please NO screen caps from any of the Star Trek properties (television series, motion pictures, etc.) - I'm looking for originality.

As they say on Vulcan, "Dif tor heh smusma."
