About VU Hortus Amsterdam
The VU Hortus, the botanical garden that belongs to the Free University of Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), is threatened with demolition.
This charming, small garden, containing more than 6000 species, has to make room for a new complex of high-rise buildings for the VU Medical Centre (VUmc). Recently the board of the VU has announced that the demolition should take place in 2 to 5 years.
