About Vintage Pattern Dating Project

The purpose of this pool is to help identify dates for vintage sewing patterns, many of which did not have dates printed on them. All images posted should have dates that can be confirmed by postmark, advertisement (catalog, newspaper, etc.), or by a date on the pattern itself.

Please include the following with all posted images:

1) Maker's name (Simplicity, Butterick, Advance, DuBarry, Anne Adams, etc.)

2) Date. This can be from the publication in which the pattern is featured (pattern catalog, newspaper, magazine, etc.); from a postmark on the mailing envelope; or from a date printed on the pattern itself.

3) Tags: Maker, pattern number (or numbers, if more than one pattern is featured in the image); and year. Type of clothing (dress, suit, skirt, pajamas) and if the pattern is for a child, man, doll, etc., would be nice, too, but is not necessary.
