About Village Missions Alaska Ministry
Village Missions supports churches in Alaska because:
Alaskans are Isolated
Seemingly forgotten, many with no access to roads, 135 remote villages are home to fewer than 1000 people. There are only 54 evangelical churches scattered among all 135 villages. Most of the people living in these communities have no church. They have no pastor.
Alaskans are Looking for Hope
Many turn to traditional religions for comfort. Even more have become trapped in chronic alcoholism and all the pain that produces in generation after generation. From old to young, these people live with little knowledge of God. Few have yet to discover the love and hope of Jesus Christ.
