08 Apr 12 - We're repurposing the forum to focus more on real, live photography and portrait photography and less on the day to day quirks and wild statements of photography's prickliest prose producer, Kirk Tuck. I'd like to see more fun stuff about the "why" of photography. Why do you shoot? Why do you post? What is your photographic search all about? How do you approach the adventure of photography? Thanks for being here. Kirk

About The Visual Science Lab
This started as a forum to talk about the wide range of topics that come up daily on the www.visualsciencelab.blogspot.com website. That site is owned by Kirk Tuck. We have broadened our scope to talk about the general "whys" of photography, not just blog topics.
Here's what we'd like to see happen: Wonderful discussions about why we photograph. Non-fan-club discussions about new trends in camera and lighting technologies. Discussions of great art and artists who inspire us. How to make a really good cup of coffee. Where to go for a really good cup of coffee if making your own is too daunting.
We'd hate for this to become a discussion group where people endlessly ask beginner technical questions - there are better places for that. If you have a cogent argument to make we welcome it. If you just think education is overrated and anyone who wants to know theory, criticism and context is a snob......this is really NOT the discussion forum for you.
What we do expect is lively conversations and visual examples about the art and business of photography. Why to do it, not step by step "how to do it..."
This group designation has changed from 18+ to "open to everyone" so let's clean up our language and not show anything........risky. Have fun. Post well.
