hey there, we don't send out the notifications if we used an image, but I'll go ahead and let you know tomorrow if we use any of yours

Aron Covaliu says:

so, you don't send notifications... so the only way to find out if your photograph was used is to see it in the actual ad? or...?

Visabrandakqa, I've just submitted one and I'm very happy to contribute, but my comment aligns with the others in this thread, as I think we should be notified when an imaged is featured in the visa.com/go site.

Hi! Thank all of you for posting your beautiful photos! The response has been wonderful and so far has exceeded our expectations. It will be very challenging to notify each person every time we choose to use an image as the images will be changing all the time. While we work to set something up, visit the site www.visa.com/go to see if you have been featured.

I went on the Visa website. It's so fast to see whether your image is there or not. But still it really would be nice to know which image was posted along with the date. So we atleast can be proud of our efforts. A thank you mail would be a nice gesture.

I don't why its challenging to let users know if you're using the photo? You're copying the photo from here and putting onto your servers. Couldn't you leave a message when you copy the photo?

Actually the images are not copied, they are linked through flickr, just like blogs do. Whenever someone clicks the image, it will take them to your photo on flickr. If you have a pro account, you can check your stats to see where the hits come from.

Notification or not, the link above is a very cool app. It's addicting. I can see why people want to be notified that their stuff was included.

DEARTH !  Pro User  says:

so when you use an image for a national or potentially multinational ad campaign, that will be helping Visa make hundreds of thousands of dollars, how much are the photographers getting paid?

I think a thank you email would be plenty for me. It's just unfortunate that I can't pay my bills with a thank you email.

I thought we all needed to be over 18 to post a photo here.
Is that funny or what?

1How do I find my picture on the site? Would it be in the "Go" mosaci on the front page?

Yes your images will be on the "Gosaic" on the front page. It usually takes 2-4 days for all images to appear.

Thank you for your participation.

to mister/misses visabrandakqa,
if when you select a picture..you could just click on it as a favorite...with a little star in the top right corner. that would be quicker than sending an email and would let people know which one you selected.

just a thought.

flickr.com has the capacity to track photos when they are used in other groups, likewise go.visa should be able to come up with an algorithm that will notify contributors that their photos are being used. the appeal of sharing photos with go.visa is knowing that they may be used in campaigns. -lopez4949

ah! just read the other comments, we will be notified then, thank you.-lopez4949

Actually, I got my notification on March 19th, and I immediately went to the site and my picture was there. It is now May 12th, and my picture's still up. I also took a screen shot of my picture being there for a future resume.

So not 15 seconds, so far. Almost two months! Thanks Visa.
