I've decided to try and curate this group a bit more seriously with the intent of having its contents reflect a certain aesthetic, which is how I originally planned it to be. From now on, all images added to the pool will be screened first and accepted only if I feel they fit in with what I'm trying to do here. I will also be going through the current collection and deleting images that I let slip through. I hope y'all understand where I'm coming from. ;)

About Vintage Paperbacks (Non-Penguin)I love the Penguin Paperback Spotters' Guild, so I thought I'd start a group where folks could post their non-Penguin finds (this also excludes Puffins and Pelicans, which are part of the Penguin family). I am particularly interested in 60's & 70's stuff (50's & early 80's is okay too, if it happens to be really amazing) with a somewhat modernist bent. Also, no "pulp" fiction stuff. There is already a group called "vintage paperback" which is full of the stuff. I would like this group to be more about design, not kitsch. If I feel a post does not adhere to the group's aesthetic, I will unfortunately have to deny its entry to the pool. Thanks! |
