What did the world look like to generations past?

Let's see everyday vintage photos from streets and backyards -- of the outside of houses, businesses, storefronts, barns, garages and any other views of buildings from the 1970s and earlier!

Guidelines:

Vintage photos only -- not modern pictures of vintage buildings, please.

Exteriors only, please -- but people and other things also in the photos are fine. (Have interior shots to share? Check out the Vintage Home Interiors group: www.flickr.com/groups/39777612@N00/.)

No mass-produced postcards/book pages: Ideally, just photographs here (family or found, small-run reprints/postcards are fine, but not published images unless they're really old or rare).

The earlier the better: Photos from no later than the 1970s, please.

People in the photo are fine - as are cars and other everyday objects, as long as the building/s and/or street scene can still be seen.

Vacation shots are okay, but we're really hoping to get a sense of the everyday world from years ago -- not so much tourist attractions.

Tags and notes: Descriptions (and tags) with the where and when (who and what optional) are encouraged. :-)

Family-friendly: Hopefully a non-issue with street and building photos...
