About Vintage Escape

Vintage Escape, in summary, is a group I hope to be a place to escape to a world of nostalgia, country charm, fun, and whimsy. "Like visiting that special aunt you've always loved", where "you can almost smell the scent of firewood burning, fresh cut flowers and old fashioned sugar cookies cooking in the oven". (I credit ghostbones for those quotes)

We welcome the following~
Your best antique photos, labels & artwork
Your best non antique photos or postcards that look antique or vintage
Your best altered art with a vintage or antique look to it, or made with it

We also welcome pictures of antique toys, dolls, etc, despite when the image was taken. As well as antique toys, special teddies with a "well loved" look are invited.

In summary, this is a group for quaint, "homespun", antique, or vintage images, or that looking of it.

This group is inspired by a lovely lady that on flickr goes by the name of "Playing With Brushes".

She was my first contact here on flickr, and has inspired me immensly! And each time I find another with similar creativity and vintage taste, my soul jumps for joy as my body remains in the wheelchair I'm bound in. It's a great escape from the world, and the aim of this group is to create a world like that of playingwithbrushes and all the flickr enthusiasts like her. What her contacts have described her and her photostream as is what I hope this group to be. Thank you Renee!
